Chengguan District, Lanzhou, is situated in the eastern part of the Lanzhou Basin, nestled between mountains and water with a pleasant climate characterised by a temperate semi-arid pattern. The district spans a total area of 207.83 square kilometres, with an urban built-up area of 67.92 square kilometres. It administers 25 subdistricts, 132 communities, and 18 administrative villages. It is home to 56 ethnic groups including Han, Hui, Manchu, Mongol, Tibetan, and Uyghur, with a permanent population of 1.5858 million.
