Jingxi City belongs to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a county-level city under the administration of Baise City, which is located between 105°56′-106°48′ East Longitude and 22°51′-23°34′ North Latitude. Jingxi City is located on the border between China and Vietnam, with a border line of 152.5 kilometres long, bordering with Chongqing, Cha-ling and Ha-guang counties of Cao Binh Province of Vietnam in the south, adjoining Napo County in the west, connecting with BaiSe Right River District and Funing County of Yunnan Province in the north, bordering with Tien-Wang and Daxin counties of ChongZhou City in the east, and DeBao County in the north-east, covering a total area of about 3,327 square kilometres.
Jingxi City has 11 townships under the jurisdiction of Xinjing Township, Huadong Township, Hurun Township, Yuewei Township, Longbang Township, Ande Township, Quyang Township, Dizhou Township, Ludong Township, Wuping Township, Longlin Township, and 8 townships of Tongde, Nongzhuang, Anning, Tunpan, Nampo, Gole, Xinjia, and Kuiwei Townships, with 10 communities and 282 villagers' committees. Jingxi is predominantly Zhuang, with more than 90 per cent of the city's population being Zhuang, making it a typical Zhuang population colony in the country. There are also a small number of Han, Miao, Hui, Yao, Manchu, Mongolian, Dong, Buyi, Maonan, Tujia and other 11 ethnic groups.
The main language of communication in Jingxi City is Tujia (commonly known as Yanghua), which belongs to the southern Zhuang dialect. The city's 19 townships (towns), in addition to the government official dialogue, school teaching with Mandarin Chinese and Guiliu language, most of the ‘Yang’ language as the language of communication, accounting for about 80% of the total population, and Debaos, Napo, Daxin, Tian and other neighbouring counties and the border of Vietnam can be communicated with the language, but there are some differences in sound, but does not interfere with the conversation.
