- The city of Laibin has a long history and culture, and in 1956, researchers from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences found a fossilized skull of the “Kirin Mountain Man” in Kirin Mountain of Laibin City, proving that in the Paleolithic Age, about 35,000 years ago, the “Kirin Mountain Man”, which is known as the ancestor of the Zhuang family, lived and flourished in this area. “This is the birthplace of Chinese Pangu culture. During the pre-Qin period, Laibin was a place where the Baiyue ethnic group lived in mixed communities. In 214 BC, Qin unified Lingnan and set up Guilin County in present-day Guangxi, and present-day Laibin belongs to Guilin County. In the 6th year of Yuan Ding of the Western Han Dynasty (111 B.C.), Guilin County was set up in Xiangzhou and Zhongliu County was set up in Wuxuan, which was the beginning of the administrative establishment of Laibin City, which has a history of 2,215 years so far. After that, Han, Three Kingdoms, North and South Dynasties period in the territory set up Guilin County, the county in today's Xiangzhou, Wuxuan two counties alternately, before the Tang Dynasty, called “Guilin”, are now the area of Laibin City. Yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China period, the administrative area of the counties, cities and districts belonging to present-day Laibin City has changed repeatedly. After the establishment of new China, the administrative area of today's Laibin City, many changes to the establishment of Guangxi in December 1957, Yishan area, the administrative area of today's Laibin City belongs to the Yishan area, in March 1958, Yishan area changed to the Liuzhou area, Liuzhou area in 1970 changed to the Liuzhou area.
