- Kaiyang County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is located at 106 degrees east longitude and 27 degrees north latitude, on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in southwest China. Located in the hinterland of Qianzhong, on the south bank of Wujiang River, bordering with urnan and Fuquan in the east, Longli and Wudang in the south, Xiuwen and Xifeng in the west, and Zunyi in the north across the Wujiang River, it has a total area of 2,023 square kilometers, with 7 towns, 8 townships, and 3 street offices under its jurisdiction, and as of the end of 2024, its total household population was 452,300 people, and its ethnic minority population was more than 59,000 people. It is 45 kilometers away from the provincial capital Guiyang in the south and 110 kilometers away from the historical city Zunyi in the north, and is located in the sub-center area connecting the two big cities of Guiyang and Zunyi, with obvious location advantages. The transportation is relatively convenient, Guikai High Grade Highway makes Kaiyang County integrated into Guiyang City one hour economic circle, four high speed (Guizun High Speed Duplicate, Guijun High Speed, Kaixie High Speed, Kaiwu High Speed) connecting Kaiyang, three railroads (Guikai Intercity Express Railway, Chuanqian Railway Spur, Jiuzhong to Yongwen Freight Spur) and a port to make the Kaiyang passenger and cargo transportation efficient access. The ecology of the territory is good, with a forest coverage of more than 57.25%. Various resources can be summarized as “4 +1” characteristics:
1, phosphate resources. Up to now, the county's cumulative total of 1.9 billion tons of proven phosphate resource reserves, of which P205 (phosphorus pentoxide) content of more than 32% of the high-quality reserves accounted for more than 80% of the country, is one of the country's three famous phosphorus mines, and Xiangyang, Hubei, Kunyang, Yunnan, and is known as the “three suns”. Relying on resource advantages, phosphorus chemical industry has become one of the leading industries in Kaiyang County.
2, water energy resources. Theoretical reserves of hydro energy resources 830,000 kilowatts, can be developed 45 million kilowatts. The total installed capacity of 383,000 kilowatts of Dahuashui, Gerry Bridge, Nanjiang, Zijiang 4 hydroelectric power stations have been completed and put into operation.
3, selenium-rich resources. County 99.91% of the soil containing selenium (average value of 588mg/kg), plant and animal selenium content (50-280μg/kg) in line with the United Nations Health Organization health food containing selenium standards, is “China's selenium state”, “China's hometown of selenium-rich agricultural products It is “China's Selenium State”, “China's Hometown of Selenium-rich Agricultural Products” and “China's Top Ten Selenium-rich Hometowns”.
4, rich tourism resources. Nanjiang Grand Canyon, purple river seam, incense fire rock as the main provincial scenic area covers a total area of 211 square kilometers, the landscape is unique, majestic, magnificent. Nanjiang Grand Canyon Scenic Area was named “China's Best Green Ecological Scenic Area” in 2008, is a national 4A-level scenic area, and “Guizhou Province Top Ten Charming Scenic Spots”, Ten Mile Gallery Rural Tourism Area was named “National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site” and “National Agricultural Tourism Model Site”. The Ten Mile Gallery Rural Tourism Area is honored as “National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Point” and “Guizhou Top Ten Iconic Landscapes”.
5. Humanities resources. Tang Dynasty, four years, Kaiyang set barbarian state, since the Ming Dynasty has been known as the “Water East” area, “Water East” cultural heritage, there are tens of thousands of years ago to play the child's nest of ancient human ruins and the Qin-Han era of the top trekking Painted Horse Cliffs remains, there are relatively well-preserved Tusi old fortresses Matouzhai, a long history and splendid culture.
