Xixiu has an excellent location. Xixiu is located in the hinterland of Guizhou Central and is the political, economic and cultural center of Anshun City. The total area of the district is 1467.9179 square kilometers, and it has 21 towns, towns, offices, and 3 new communities. The permanent population in 2024 is 650,500. It lives in 33 ethnic groups including Han, Miao, Buyi, Gelao, Hui, etc. It is a cultural ancient city with a history of more than 600 years and an open new city that is rapidly rising. The transportation in Xixiu area is well developed. Xixiu District is known as "the belly of Guizhou, the throat of Yunnan, the lips and teeth of Guangdong and Sichuan" and "the dry wharf of Guizhou". Expressways such as Shanghai Kun, Chiwang ( Anzi ) , Anpu, Hua'an, and Duxiang run through the entire territory, forming a one-hour economic circle with the provincial capital Guiyang City. Judging from the air route, Huangguoshu Airport is a dual-purpose military and civilian airport in the country. Flights to Guangzhou, Beijing, Kunming, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other places have been opened, 90 kilometers away from Guiyang Longdongbao Airport. Xixiu's environment is ecologically livable. Xixiu District has a subtropical monsoon humid climate, with an altitude of 1,200-1,600 meters. There is no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer, and the climate is pleasant. The annual average temperature is 14℃, the annual comfort period is as long as 8 months, and there is no high temperature record above 35℃. The solar radiation value is 75.7-88.5 kcal/square centimeter. It is a low-value area for solar radiation in the country. The urban air quality is 100%, and the forest coverage rate is 43%. It is a "natural air conditioner and large oxygen bar".

Xixiu is rich in tourism resources. Xixiu District is the first Class A tourism open city determined by the State Council. It is an excellent tourist city in China, one of the six major golden tourism hotlines in the country and a western tourism center in Guizhou. It is a preferred area for karst scenery tourism in the world. It has the reputation of "China Waterfall Township" and "Bati Land". It has three 4A-level tourist attractions, including Yunfeng Tun Fort, Jiuzhou Ancient Town, Hongshan Lake Park, 7 3A-level scenic spots, and 1 red classic tourist attraction Wang Ruofei's former residence, as well as many national and provincial key cultural relics protection units, including the Ancient Han Tomb Site of Ninggu, Anshun Conservancy Temple, Wu Temple, Yunshantun Ancient Building Complex, Baojiatun Water Conservancy Project, Xixiushan White Tower and Yuantong Temple. The 600-year-old Tunbao culture is unique and forms the unique cultural scenery of Xixiu with its beautiful natural scenery, simple folk customs and colorful ethnic festivals.
