Taijiang County is located in the southeastern part of Guizhou Province, at the northern foot of Leigong Mountain, with a total area of 1,108 square kilometers. The county is home to 23 ethnic groups, including the Miao, Han, and Dong, with a total population of 173,000, of which the Miao account for 98%. ——Rich red cultural heritage. The Red Sixth Army Corps and the Central Red Army successively fought in Taijiang, leaving behind numerous traces of their heroic deeds. On December 26, 1934, Comrade Mao Zedong arrived at Shidong Pianzhai with the Military Commission Column, and the Red Army's General Political Department was stationed in Pianzhai. On that day, Comrade Mao Zedong turned 41. The Red Army spread revolutionary truths and implemented the Party's ethnic policies in Taijiang, giving rise to the red saddle culture.
