Xingyi City is located in the southwestern part of Guizhou Province, at the junction of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi provinces (autonomous regions). It serves as the capital of the Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture—China's “Golden State”—and functions as the prefecture's political, economic, cultural, information, and tourism hub. Known as the “Crossroads of Three Provinces” and the “Gateway to Guizhou and Guangxi,” it was approved by the State Council on November 6, 1987, to establish municipal status. Xingyi boasts a superior location and convenient transportation. Situated at the junction of Guizhou, Guangxi, and Yunnan provinces (regions) in the upper reaches of the Pearl River, it lies 280 kilometers from Guiyang, 290 kilometers from Kunming, and 480 kilometers from Nanning. Positioned at the center of these three provincial capitals, it is the fastest-growing and most dynamic central city within a 200-kilometer radius of the region. It simultaneously benefits from the multi-directional influence of Guiyang, Nanning, Kunming, and the ASEAN Free Trade Area. Four major transportation routes traverse the city: the Nanning-Kunming Railway and the Shantou-Kunming-Huishui-Xingyi Expressway. The Xingyi Ring Expressway was completed on schedule, and construction of the Panxian-Xingyi High-Speed Railway is in full swing. Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport now operates 22 routes to 25 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chongqing, with international flights under active planning. The Southwest Waterway to the Pearl River for maritime access and the Southwest成品油及天然气管道工程 have been completed and put into operation, forming an integrated transportation network combining expressways, railways, waterways, aviation, and pipelines.
