Xingyi City is located in the southwestern part of Guizhou Province, at the junction of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi provinces (autonomous regions). It serves as the capital of the Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture—China's “Golden State”—and functions as the prefecture's political, economic, cultural, information, and tourism hub.
