Jiayuguan Municipal Bureau of Statistics

(1) Overseeing municipal statistical work to ensure data authenticity, accuracy and timeliness. Implementing national statistical policies, plans, fundamental statistical systems and standards; formulating municipal statistical reform plans and regulatory documents.

(2) Organising national and provincial economic accounting systems and input-output surveys; calculating municipal gross domestic product; compiling and providing national economic accounting materials.

(3) Organise and implement major national censuses on national conditions and capabilities. Organise and implement major municipal censuses on population, economy, agriculture, and other national conditions and capabilities; aggregate, collate, and provide relevant statistical data.

(iv) Organise and implement statistical surveys across the city for agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries; industry; construction; wholesale and retail trade; accommodation and food services; real estate; leasing and business services; household services and other services; culture, sports, and entertainment; loading, unloading, and other transport services; warehousing; computer services; software; scientific and technological exchange and promotion services; and social welfare services; Collect, aggregate, collate and provide statistical data from relevant surveys; comprehensively collate and provide basic citywide statistical data on geological exploration, tourism, transportation, postal services, education, health, social security, and public utilities.

(v) Organising and implementing city-wide statistical surveys on energy, investment, consumption, prices, income, science and technology, population, labour force, basic social development conditions, and environmental fundamentals; collecting, compiling, organising, and providing statistical data from such surveys; synthesising and providing city-wide basic statistical data on foreign trade and other areas.

(vi) Organise city-wide statistical surveys on economic, social, scientific, technological, and resource-environmental conditions; uniformly verify, manage, and publish fundamental city-wide statistical materials; regularly release statistical information on the city's national economic and social development; establish a statistical information sharing and release system for the service sector.

(vii) Conduct statistical analysis, forecasting, and supervision of national economic conditions, social development, scientific progress, and resource-environmental status; provide statistical information and advisory recommendations to the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and relevant departments.

(viii) Organise and manage municipal statistical survey projects; approve or file departmental statistical survey projects in accordance with the law; guide foundational work in specialised statistics and grassroots statistical infrastructure development; establish a management system for service sector statistical information; develop robust systems for statistical data quality review, monitoring, and evaluation; conduct review, monitoring, and evaluation of key statistical data.

(9) Guide the development of the city's statistical professional workforce; administer statistical practitioner qualification certification; enhance the education, training, and management of statistical personnel.

(10) Establish the city's automated statistical information system and statistical database system.

(11) Implement and enforce statistical laws and regulations; inspect and supervise their implementation; investigate and address statistical violations.

(12) Undertake other matters assigned by the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and Provincial Bureau of Statistics.
