Tongren Municipal Public Security Bureau

(1) Implement and enforce the policies, laws, regulations, and rules of the Party and the state regarding public security work, and deploy, guide, supervise, and inspect public security work throughout the city.

(2) Maintain social stability.

(3) Organise and guide the investigative work of public security organs throughout the city.

(4) Be responsible for public security management throughout the city.

(5) Be responsible for work related to entry and exit management. Handle and guide the administrative management of entry and exit for citizens of this city, foreigners holding ordinary passports, overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regarding residence, travel, and employment.

(6) Responsible for traffic safety management throughout the city and assuming corresponding responsibilities. It guides and supervises public security organs in maintaining traffic safety, traffic order, and the management of motor vehicles and drivers within the scope of authority prescribed by the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China. It legally manages traffic safety on expressways within the jurisdiction of Tongren City.

(7) Guides and supervises public security organs in the lawful execution of criminal penalties. It guides and supervises detention centres, detention facilities, and compulsory isolation drug rehabilitation centres under the jurisdiction of public security organs throughout the city.

(8) Responsible for security and protection work for large-scale public events.

(9) Guide and supervise the city's public security organs in drug control work.

(10) Guide and supervise the implementation of police support standards and systems by the city's public security organs.

(11) Implement policies and guidelines for public security team building, formulate and implement policies and measures for the city's public security teams, establish supervision and management systems, and lead and organise public security organ inspection work. Responsible for the ideological and work style construction of the public security team.

(12) Lead the forest public security legal affairs work within the municipal jurisdiction and guide the public security work of the railway departments within the jurisdiction.

(13) Handle other matters assigned by the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and Provincial Public Security Bureau.

(14) Assume other statutory responsibilities.
