Liupanshui City is located in the western part of Guizhou Wumeng Mountain area, is the country's ‘three lines’ construction period of development of an energy and raw materials industrial city, on 18 December 1978 by the State Council approved the establishment of the city. Liupanshui is rich in mineral resources. The city initially found coal, iron, lead, zinc, manganese, gold, lithium, copper, fluorite, limestone, dolomite, marble, calcite, barite and other 30 kinds of minerals. Liupanshui, as one of the 31 growing resource cities identified by the State Council, has formed a modern industrial system with coal, electric power, metallurgy, building materials and new coal chemical industry as the pillars, and has four large-scale state-owned enterprises, namely Shougang Shougang Group, Panjiang Fine Coal Company, Shui Mineral Holding Group and Liuzhi Industrial and Mining Group, which were developed during the construction period of the ‘Three Lines’. Liupanshui has unique climate resources. The three-dimensional climate is obvious.
